Precoating filter cartridge
What is precoating?
Precoating describes the application of an additional layer to a cartridge filter. During filtration, particles deposit on the precoat layer and thus remain only indirectly on the filter cartridge.
A cleaning mechanism frees the filter from the particle layer. This extends the service life of the filter cartridge. Instead of replacing it, a new precoat layer is applied.
The coating is applied before filtration. For creating an even layer for optimum protection, the precoating agent is dosed accordingly.
Each filtration cycle is followed by a cleaning process. The particulate matter falls into the system’s dust container due to compressed air pulses. Adding more precoating agent creates a new layer on the filter. This process must be repeated regularly to ensure an effective filtration, which extends significantly the functionality and service life of the filter cartridges, even when extracting large quantities of dust or wet, sticky dust.
Why precoating?
Filters saturate quickly when extracting sticky dust emissions, such as resins. The particles stick together on the mesh of the filter, clogging the filter cartridge in a short time. Precoating protects the filter cartridge from this and simplifies the cleaning process. The coating is applied before filtration.
